My Greatest Achievement Was Coming to the U.S.

In 2008 I made a difficult and important decision. This decision changed my life forever. It was not easy to get a visa to come to the U.S. The paper work was very difficult. There was a lot to the process, and it was very important to get everything right. We were very nervous because they don't give visa papers to everybody. But we were lucky, because we passed the interview and off we went to come to the U.S.A. for a better life. I had mixed feelings when I was on the plane. I felt very happy, fortunate, and sad, all at the same time. I was thinking of all my family and friends I left back home, especially my mother. I was thinking of how my father and I were coming to live the American dream. I was sacred because we didn't speak English. My father said not to worry. Learning to speak English, meeting new friends, and eating different foods would be a good experience.

I've been here a year now and I am so happy. I go to school. I learned how to dive. I have a new car. I have a job and new friends. my wish is to finish school and go to college and be a Nurse.
